Jesus Club Update | February 2022
It’s great to be Chinese because you get to ring in the new year not just once, but twice!
February saw us celebrating the lunar new year with visits to each other’s homes, outings, and in true CNY fashion, lots of feasting!
Here are some photos of home visits during CNY:
Now that 2022 is well and truly upon us, what can we look forward to at Jesus Club this year?
At JC@BFEC, we’ll continue where we left off in the Old Testament last year, and journey with God’s people as they make their way to the Promised Land. In the second half of the year, we’ll turn to the parables of the kingdom in the New Testament. We’ve also arranged 2 topical talks on Money and Relationships, which are particular areas of struggle for our friends with special needs.
At JC@BA, we’ve started on 1 Timothy in 2022. We’ll be learning how we as a church are to behave to support the truth of the Bible to a watching world. Towards the end of the year, we’ll go through Two Ways to Live, a simple presentation of the gospel, before we build up towards Christmas.
Lastly, on the Jesus Club Singapore front, we’ll be organising three combined events this year.
First up in July, we’ll have our annual Volunteers’ Training Day. This year, our focus is on equipping volunteers to better communicate with our friends with intellectual disabilities. There will also be workshops on leading gospel-centred group discussions and writing talks for Jesus Club.
In August, we’ll host our annual Caregivers’ Event to support the caregivers of our Jesus Club members. This event is an opportunity for caregivers to gather to reflect on God’s Word, share their joys and struggles, and support one another in prayer.
Finally, we’ll end the year with a bang with our Thanksgiving Event in November! This is the highlight of the year for many of us, since it brings the whole Jesus Club family together – supporters, members, caregivers, and volunteers from both clubs – to praise and thank God for the year.
Do pray along with us, that our plans for 2022 will deepen faith, love and hope among our Jesus Club family.
